The work repeats, in three materials, a form inspired by the work of the classic modernist sculptor, the Romanian-French artist Constantin Brancusci. For me, this work has long been an object of admiration and motivation for my own creative explorations. Repeating the analogous gesture of simplifying organic forms to the limits of abstraction, I make a shift: the heads – spheres are multiplied in three different materials: bronze – classical, academic, field stone, popular in post-glacial regions, and wood, eagerly used also by non-professional artists. In this way I tell the story of the transfer of style, which migrates – is tamed, a self-conscious appropriation of another place.
