Danka Jarzyńska – sculptor, graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk, a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers and Association Internationale des Arts Plastiques. She works mainly in classical sculptural materials (bronze, marble, granite), and also creates ceramics and installations. She has exhibited in many galleries in Tricity, as well as at the Polish Sculpture Center in Orońsko, in Bydgoszcz, Toruń, and Druskininkai (Lithuania).
She lives and works on Sobieszewo Island and is an active member of the local community, working for the quality of its culture, environment and public space. She is the author of the project of the Plein Air Granite Sculpture Workshop Gdansk – Sobieszewo Island and the organizer of its first edition under the title “Island in Granite”, as well as the editor of the catalog documenting and commenting this event. As a curator, she also organized the exhibition Passage in the Sopot Art Passage Sopot Centrum (2018).
She is the winner of the 3rd edition of the Professor Tadeusz Malinski International NanoArt109 Competition, organized by Galerie Roi Doré in Paris. Her works are in private collections in many places around the world, including Russia, Mexico and the USA. The sculpture “Trace” was purchased by the Association of Friends of Sobieszewo Island and displayed in the public space of the Island.
