Danka Jarzyńska – is a sculptor; a graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdańsk and a member of the Association of Polish Artists and Designers (ZPAP) as well as Association Internationale des Arts Plastiques. She uses mainly classical sculpting materials: bronze, marble and granite; she also creates ceramic and installations. She describes her art as figurative minimalism. Her biggest source of inspiration is modern sculpture: Constantin Brăncuşi, Barbara Hepworth and Henri Moore.
She creates in her studio in the Sobieszewska Island and has long been a local activist advocating for the quality of its local culture, environment and public space. She authored the serial project – the Sculpture En Plein Air in Granite Gdańsk-Wyspa Sobieszewska and organized its first edition titled “Granite on the Island” as well as edited the catalogue describing and commenting it. She keeps visiting and working in the Centre of Polish Sculpture in Orońsko.
She is the winner of the third place of Tadeusz Malinski NanoArt 10-9 International Fine Arts Contest (3rd edition), Gallery Roi Doré in Paris. Her pieces can be found in private collections in many places around the world, for example in Russia, Mexico and USA.
